On my birthday the boy with a photogenic smile & I took the train to the East Village for brunch. We went to
Flea Market Cafe a French restaurant on Ave. A. They have a $10.95 brunch menu that can't go wrong. The menu comes with coffee & half glass orange juice along with the food. I had the "Omelette du Flea Market" with mushroom & tomato & T had the Oeufs Bénédicte. Our food was tasty. The restaurant has a very uplifting atmosphere with a waitress who greets you with a smile that deserves a gracious tip. You can enjoy French classical music while you eat and the place is decorated with items bought from, I am guessing, flea markets around New York City.
Afterward, we walked to
Metropolis, a vintage clothing store and then to
Whole Foods in Union Square, for the chocolate birthday cake and items for the birthday party that we were planning to have later in Brooklyn.
With luck my birthday fell on Saturday this year.
It was a mix of friends, old and new. This was T's first party in in our place in Brooklyn. As always, It was a great way to see all my friends. It was the first snow of 2009. Despite the bad weather people came. The party ended around 12:30 am but some friends stayed till 3:00 am for conversations and laughter.
