Last Sunday was fun. Not sure what i did early that day. Maybe it will come to me later. But later in the day Me, Manuela & Mark take the water taxi from 34th st on the west side to taxi beach in LIC. This was the first time I ever took the water taxi in NYC.
It was a short ride but you get a spectaculer view of Manhattan sky line from the roof of the boat. You can see your destination from the city. It is very close. Once we get to the taxi beach. We make a trip to the ATM for some extra cash in a nearby restaurant. Afterward, we get inside. The beach is big enough and pleasent. They have sand all over the ground just like in a regular beach. There was a party going on there. It was a DJ line up of techno/eletronica music. I liked the free spirited crowd that was there. Although it was not mostly people who likes that type of music. They were ranging from mid twenties to thirties and some above the age of forties. It was pretty mixed with all different face of new york.
People were wearing very laid back clothed. I think some were on Ecstasy by the looks of their face and they way they were acting. It seemed like it would be a great spot to take one. But not necessary to techno. It was a great location. They served beers and mix cocktails, They were also grilling up burgers and hot dogs and snack foods. There was a large tent under where the DJ was spinning. The DJ looked like someone who lived in williamsburg works for a retail and dj's as a part time gig. Although, later on he played one or two tracks from something I'd here at the 718 Sessions. We run in to Benny Soto the promoter of 718 Sessions. He was promoting this party as well. He tells us that 718 Session will have a party in this location sometimes this summer. Which is a very good news. I'd love to be there for this event. He also tell us that the 718 sessions boat party should be great as well. So two days later I get tickets for my self and bunch of friends some will pay me back. And now it's Friday and tomorrow will be our superhero theme party. This should be fun. I still have to plan out my costume but i am almost there.
